Grateful Patient Honors Caregivers

When patients and their families are facing difficult health issues, a caring and professional medical staff can significantly impact their lives. Recently, the Arroyo Grande Community Hospital Medical/Surgical care team was recognized for their exceptional care for a patient in his final days.

"The entire team was outstanding in keeping us up to date on my husband's condition, treatments, and needs. If they didn't have the answers to our questions, they would find the answers and relay them to us," recalled the patient's wife.

The small acts of kindness shown by several staff members collectively made a difficult experience much brighter. The patient's family decided to honor those who cared for their late husband and father by providing a meal from Rosa's Italian Restaurant. A small celebration was held, and several "guardian angels" who provided care beyond expectations were honored.

The Foundation thanks the many employees who exemplify Humankindness as well as those who have found special ways to recognize exceptional staff members.
