Employee Giving
Humankindness is more than just a word on signs at Arroyo Grande Community Hospital. It’s a way of life.
The hardworking healthcare professionals at our hospital are not only highly educated in providing medical care; they are compassionate human beings who care deeply about helping their neighbors and each other.
These values are exemplified by the Employee Giving Campaign. Since 2007, our employees have contributed over $1 million to programs and services that benefit our hospital in countless ways.
While there are several ways to give, many employees choose to join the “Hour of Power” and contribute one hour of their pay or one hour of paid time off each pay period.
Longtime hospital employee Mary Estephan supports the Employee Giving Campaign because she believes in the power of the “circle of giving,” knowing that the support she offers will one day come back to her in times of need.
That moment came when her family faced a natural disaster. During this challenging period, the Employee Assistance Fund helped her family recover from the devastation of the disaster. The fund supported them in getting back on their feet, reinforcing Mary's belief in the importance of giving back.
In her earlier years, Mary directed her donations toward specific hospital programs. But with the increasing demand for funding in various areas, she shifted her contributions to where the need was greatest.
For Mary, giving is about supporting the community she loves—patients, coworkers, and the hospital she’s called home for nearly three decades.
We are incredibly grateful for the ongoing support of our talented employees. Their compassion and generosity enable Arroyo Grande Community Hospital to fulfill its mission of caring for our community in every possible way.
