Leaving a Legacy

Peter and Carol Lee Keith have been active members of the community for decades. Since moving to South San Luis Obispo County in 1972, Peter has worked to develop and strengthen the community and has held several local leadership positions including mayor of Grover Beach. In addition to public offices, he has served as a member of numerous boards of directors for local businesses and nonprofits. This diverse local background has made the Keiths especially familiar with the past, present, and future needs of the community. With this understanding, along with a desire to bolster the community they have called their home for so many years, they have decided to include Arroyo Grande Community Hospital in estate plans.

Peter said, “Carol and I thought about what a truly great hardship not having a local hospital, or suffering an under-performing hospital, would mean. Thus, we concluded that we would like to join the many other local families who have generously contributed, ensuring the hospital’s continued success in providing high-end, professional care –especially for families in need of medical treatment.”

By making an irrevocable estate gift of $100,000, the Keiths are able to enjoy their current resources with theknowledge that they will make a meaningful difference in the future of health care for our community. “We strongly believe in our hospital’s current and future success. Fundamentally, we want to join other families in their generous support of our local hospital. We also truly believe a need exists to further expand the hospital’s ability to continue its important role in providing superior health care both now and into the not so distant future,” said Peter. Just as the community relies on its hospital to provide lifesaving care, Arroyo Grande Community Hospital relies on community support to be able to provide that care. The Keiths’ gift, along with so many others from similarly generous community members, will ensure that Arroyo Grande Community Hospital can continue to provide high quality medical care for years to come.
